Issue with Apache Installation
 

Hi all,

I installed Apache on Fedora 4 and I am experiencing an issue connecting to the server. It's a clean install and I am able to access the test page on the box itself. When I hook up a client to the network, I am able to ping the box with Apache and the Apache box can ping the client. However, when I attempt to access the Apache box by IP address via browser on the client I get a message stating “Connection refused”.

Any thoughts as to what this can be? I’ve searched Google for countless hours and have not been able to resolve it.

do you have port 80 open on your router? Dumb question, but best to start at the begining :)

For now I don't even have the two machines hooked up to a router. I just have a switch and using the 192.168.0.x network.

what do the apache logs say?
