ISPConfig: directory restrict FTP users not applying very fast
ISPConfig 3. I thought the "Perfect Setup" installed proftpd, but I think this is Pureftpd..not sure if thats correct or even matters.
Anyway, I added a FTP user to a site. On the options tab, user's default home directory was /var/www/clients/client1/web3 and the actual HTML files are located in the subdirectory "web" inside aforementioned path. i created a new directory /var/www/clients/client1/web3/web/username, and also changed ISPConfig user options to this path, and clicked save.
When i login via FTP with this new user, I still saw same old folders--cgi-bin, web (where the web files go), log, ssl, tmp...
As I was writing this post (about 30 minutes after the addition of new FTP user) I randomly logged in again and--VOILA--the home directory had been applied.
Do I need to restart a service or update anything else when making these changes? I'd like to avoid this security issue in the future. For 30 minutes, this new user had read/write to the root of this site!
Thanks in advance!
