ISDN fax under Linux..
Hi everyone
i have a passive avm fritz isdn card, which i used while on wincoze to send and receive faxes i wish to keep the same use on linux, however seems i am unable to. i am running ubuntu feisty fawn, gnome version, and i've installed avm kernel files and capiutils as well as the dependencies needed. I tried to make it work with efax-gtk, but no luck, since i can't figure out what is the device i should configure there (ttyS0-1-2-3-4-5 as well as ttyI0-1-2-3-4-5 don't work) and while capifax works, and dials out the number correctly, i can't make it send fax. I tried many different file formats: jpeg, ps, tiff, G3 tiff, however what i get sent is only a few pages with a bunch of garbage (that should be the source of the file).. the syntax i use for capifax is: Code:
capifax -v -i my_user -c my_number sending_number file so my questions are: can i config efax-gtk to use my isdn? if not, can i make capifax work correctly? if not, is there anything else i can use to send a fax? Thank everyone for his help- |
This article might help. This author uses hylafax instead of efax-gtk.

hi, i already tried everything on that page with no luck.
moreover i am not a big fan of hylafax finding it toooo complex to use and with many unnecessary functions. I prefer to use efax, however i cannot identify to which device is the isdn card connected.. as i wrote before, capifax works, but trying to connect efax to capi20 fails.. |
