Is there: Language Translation Program in Linux?
Hey all,
I've been looking for a descent language translation program for Linux. Preferably one with a few different languages. Not sure if such a thing exists, as I've been thru google and this site's searches. The most I could find on Google was M$ programs, or "professional pay me to do it" type ads. Tnx. L8rz |

Done a bit of butchering :} ... errrh,
went to http://freshmeat.net and found those links interesting: http://wordtrans.sourceforge.net/ http://www.webbysoft.com/babelkit/ http://fjolliton.free.fr/babytrans/ useful, even though they probably aren't quite what you envisaged (they are alright for word-to-word translations, but you need to have a fair idea of what you're doing to make sense of the outcome). If you're happy with something that comes across like taiwanenglish you can always use http://babelfish.altavista.com/ But quite frankly: even the professional products (I've tried a few demo-versions of windows-software) don't do too well. Cheers, Tink |
Can't you just use a web based service like google or altavista. I think that altavista has a better service than google though.
