Is there anyting can enable multi sound stream????
 
I am using a Ubuntu 5.04 on Thinkpad T41. Can you be so kind to tell me how can I make multi sound stream work? with some soft or just some tweaking work????

Multi sound stream? By this do you mean hearing more than one sound at once?

If you do, then check out gnome's esound or kde's arts sound server.

yep, i do mean this. but how can i configure it? m a real newbie

Well I'd go for asoundrc and dmix. Couldn't get gnome or kde working. This is what works for me:

Hope it fixes the tabs etc. cause it looked horribly. You need dmix for this which is included in one of the alsa packages. Save it in your home as .asoundrc

thx a lot.

i've made esound work, but occasionally there is some noise on my T41, i'll see if dmix works better.

Hey darkleaf,

Do you get any sort of lag when using dmix? I haven't ever tried it (I don't think)- I just gave up arts for alsa to get rid of that awful lag. I'm always open to new options...
