is there any equivalent for ndd ,p tree and tip command ?
In solaris we have ndd , tip and ptree command but I couldnt find any similar command in Linux. does anyone knows the equivalent for
then please let me know. thanks.
ptree : I would use top or htop.
I can't quite work out what tip does - from what I can read in "man tip" it's similar to ssh, but I could be completely off here...
As for ndd, I haven't got involved much in kernel stuff, but I think you can use sysctl to modify kernel variables. "man sysctl" suggests that the variables are stored in "/proc/sys/", which conforms to what I can remember about playing with the kernel :)
Thanks for not cross-posting :hattip:; however, I think this is too meaty a question for linux-newbie. I suggest you leave it here, it is getting answers. If you want better answers, give us non-Solaris types better clues what these commands do -- links to the Solaris man pages, perhaps. If it gets moved anywhere, I suggest Solaris, or Linux-General . Ultimately, I will put it where you ask.
BTW, it's "forum", not "forumn".
