Is there any alternative for cp aommand in linux to copy bulk data ?????


I am trying to copy bulk data from my cf or sd card to hdd using cp command .....
It works very aprropriately for small data.But for bulk data it's slow .

Is there any alternative command for this ???

Suggest me Urgently....

Hate to tell you this, but the cp comand has nothing to do with the copy speed. Copy speed depends entirely on the device, drivers, and possibly the way it is mounted.

You could try using 'rsync' if you are repeatedly copying similar data, or even using tar. But I doubt you'll find anything considerably faster. CF and SD cards just don't run terribly fast.
