is there a program that will project my android table screen to a larger display

Is there a program out there that would allow me to connect my android tablet to a desktop running a Linux distribution and allow me to project the screen on my android tablet to a larger display.

you can play videos on a dlna enabled tv. i use allshare and xbmc-remote on my galaxy s2.

some devices are capable of connecting to external monitors:

I have a nexus 7 and it doesn't have a port on it for it to be plugged into a television.

I was thinking more along the lines of installing Linux distribution on a PC and running a program on it that will allow the tablet to remotely connect to it and have the tablet run an app that will project what is on the screen to the PC's display output.

i sometimes use droidvnc on my galaxy and remote desktop viewer on my fedora machine but it is kinda' slow.

Is there anything that is faster. Something that acts like it was designed to do this type of thing between a Linux and Android Device?
