Is there a Linux distro that uses Autopackage?

I'm new to Linux and installed Ubuntu 6.06 because it's supposed to be designed for ease of use. I don't know this whole apt-get, Synaptic, tar.gz ordeal just gives me a headache. It's way too complicated. An article I read said Autopackage was designed to make software installation as easy as Windows. Is there a distro that uses it? Thanks.

Autopackage is not a popular packaging mechanism and I don't know any distro that uses it as its main packaging system. You can get some packages in the autopackage format, but not a lot.

I don't know of any distributions that come with Autopackage, but it can work on any distribution. Indeed that is what Autopackage is designed to be - one package format that can be used with any distribution.

The first time you download an Autopackage file it will download and install the package management system, then after that you can use that system to install and manage any other Autopackage packages.
