Is there a "How to up grade Linux Kernal?"

I just installed Mandrake Linux 9.2 and I was currious about going ahead and installing the 2.6 Kernal. Since I'm new to linux I'm not really sure on how to complete this project. Can anyone help me?

Thanks in Advance,

Read this thread, this is asked all the time, a quick search will find more results, etc.

And its kernel, not kernal.

Cheers.
