I've been searching long and hard for some way to sync my PocketPC to my gentoo system. It really appears as if there is no hope for our PPC's. I lost pretty hard seeing as I became a linux user only a few months after I blew $700 CAD on a toshiba e750.

I'm pretty sure your next question will be 'is there any way to put linux on my PPC?'

No. There is not. I've been looking for that also. There is one project I know of that is trying to put linux on an e740, but it looks like I'd need to rip my PPC apart to do that.

In short, you're boned.

There is a sourceforge project which will sync ximian and winCE. But probably not compatable with windows mobile 2003. http://synce.sourceforge.net/synce/

You can run activesync under wine. http://appdb.codeweavers.com/appview...&versionId=835

You can get a LAN card and access the files like a regular networked computer - and use various utilities to convert the formats.

And there is linux for PPC - look for the familiar project and the intimate project. http://familiar.handhelds.org/ and http://intimate/handhelds.org

though they are concentrating on hp and iPaq
