Hello,
Is it possible to install K-lite Mega Codec package available for WIndows OS in Linux. As we have win32codecs for .wmv files etc.

First: why you need this stuff? Lack of support for some media format?

deepclutch 04-20-2007 04:27 AM

all media formats(most) are supported;thts not the matter-simply wants to know whether it is achievable or not. Also these codecs finds good if u r into encoding and decoding of var media formats etc.

I double it and add an MPlayer + mencoder as another possibility. Linux is able to handle any media format you can think of using it's own tools without the need for "hacked" (read: stolen) "codecs packs".

I do use all these s/ws ranging from Xine(my fav),gmplayer, mecoder, vlc and for dvd editing and authoring-avidemux,dvdstyler,devede,tovid,cinerella etc.
waht klite? stolen codecs!=I dont use M$ Windows(though a copy is installed for others in my pc!) got this info 4m a forum that these codecs are awesome.thats all.I do belive in FOSS and a complete GNU/Linux Debian user for the past 3 years.sorry if it harms and for the trouble. :)

Nothing awesome in there for Linux user. I did some checks and it seems like my Debian is able to handle media formats that i even have no clue about what they are... Get over it, man, really.
