Question Is apache smp aware by default?

Is apache smp aware by default? I have an 8-way SGI Origin 2000 server I want to use as a web server. (IRIX)

I may be wrong here, but I don't think apache needs to be SMP aware, as long as the kernel is....

Each server request is a single process, so SMP awareness is moot. As long as your kernel is scheduling these processes between the different processors then it will work just fine.
