IRC tips/tricks?
I'v explored almost all the common things on the internet: P2P, AIM, MSN, etc... What i have never really messed with is IRC.
I know that XChat is the right client but can som1 give me a briefing as to the lingo, tools and general howto on navigating IRC? Thanks. |

If anybody could tell me which is the sound event in xchat when your nick is called is I'd appreciate it a lot.

Channel message is for evey message in the channel. Thing is I'm in a few potentially very high traffic channels so it gets really annoying. If my nick is _philip__ I had it working in gaim that when someone used _philip__ I hear this alarm going off that they're talking to me. I want this kind of behaviour. Or do I have to make a script for it?

Right click on the channel at the bottom then select beep on message.
|
That was it thanks! Set beep and then have a sound for beep set in preferences :)

Actually it doesn't work. Like I said that plays a sound on every message and I only want it when there's _philip__ (my nick) in someone else's message.
