IP Cams & uPNP

Hey folks,

I've recently re-set up my both of my IP Cameras on my network.

They are Panasonic BLC-1A wired units. I was going to use ZoneMinder to run them, but they have webservers built right in. From what I've read, they run on linux!

This product uses a part of NetBSD kernel.
The use of a part of NetBSD kernel is based on the typical BSD style
license below.
Either way, they're configured & running, the built in software allows me to view multi-cams (up to 12 I guess) via a web browser.

The crap part about that is: you have to log into each one. Say you have 12 cams set up to display on one page; you will be asked for log-in info 12 times to view each camera. Still, i'm happy they're working.

When I boot up our Windows XP Laptop, I can see the camera's, printer & router on the network via upnp.

I just set up a fresh installation of Debian Squeeze
Distributor ID: Debian
Description: Debian GNU/Linux testing (squeeze)
Release: testing
Codename: squeeze
Kernel: 2.6.32-trunk-686

Is it possible to do the same on Squeeze? If so, which packages should I look into? I've google searched this for a while, but i'm still unsure as to how to proceed.

Any help / relevant comments on this matter is greatly appreciated!

I just looked at this camera's PDF manual from panasonic
Page10:

When [Permit access from guest users] is set on the Security: Administrator
page (see page 52), the authentication window will not be displayed.
So it looks as though you can turn off the requirement to login if you don't want or need it.
