Call it what you will, there has been a dearth of programs for anyone wanting to ditch the ms favourites. Like others I have been searching for a long time for a program to send out numbered invoices to customers. And then record payments received.

Then I stumbled upon Nevitium. It seems like a Java based program. Its free. But most startling of all - it actually seems to work!

I have only just started testing it out but I wondered if anyone else has also tried it. Theres also also another one called Express Invoice but I couldnt get it to fire up. It just opened and sat there doing nothing. I will try it again.

Well, thanks to your post, I'm testing it -- so far the documentation doesn't come too close to where the software's at (hey, it's new, in flux, takes time), but seems pretty close to what some friends want for their farm, hay and produce business.

My only complaint is that I want software like this installed in /opt and used locally, preferably with the data files somewhere not in a user home directory (looks like you might be able to do that but I've just started and it's not obvious).

And the real major objection is spaces in the blasted directory name -- will Windows Weenies Ever Learn?

Yes, I fixed that by changing the name and putting a dash -n in the white space. you can use the current name by putting it in "inverted commas". (I think thats called quotation marks nowadays.)
Its not a typical Linux application but it seems to work.
