Invisible fonts in Opera!

I have an unusual problem...I just upgraded to Mandrake 9.1, and after getting everything installed, I fired up Opera, only to find there was no text visible anywhere! The titlebar displays text, as do the pulldown menus, but the window list, buttons, and even web sites are blank. A couple of things I thought might be wrong:

Uninstalling and reinstalling (didn't work)
Dependency problems with qt (I have the static qt version)
Screwed up theme (all themes are affected)

I also tried to get the font dialog to change the font, only to discover another weird problem. All dialogs (such as preferences and options) are the same height, but infinitely wide. No matter how much I resize the width, there's always more where it came from.

It seems like someone must have had this happen. Let me know if you've seen it before...I miss Opera! :(

It happened to me too, I was using opera 6.10, then I installed an older version, 6.03, and now the fonts work again ...

I just downloaded the new Opera 7.11 for Linux...I didn't even know it was out yet, but it fixed my problem. Thanks!

I had this problem with Opera...

Uninstalling the static version I had and installing the version for my distro (mandrake) with linked qt lib worked.

If you upgraded, it seems to me, from my own experience that maybe the link between opera and the qt libraries wasn't working properly...causing the problem...which might be why the static version won't work on my system, but the linked one does.
