i have a problem on internet connection i have a serial modem (external 56k us robotic messege modem ) linux 7.3 ...when i connect to normal isp my internet connection is disconnect. i use this account on win98 this is connect perfectly all things are perfect but i m not connected in linux plz tell me whats the probelm ? plz email me "softnetworks@gmail.com" i again tell when i connect 2 isp my modem is dail but after 30 sec it is disconnect ...my phone line is ok my modem is also ok and my account is also ok ...so y i not connected 2 isp ? plz help me

yea there is something wrong with the chat scripts -- i've had that problem too at times.
with certain settups

try wvdial
once you have it installed just run:
touch /etc/wvdial.conf &&
wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf

then go to /etc/wvdial.conf
and enter phone number, login name and password
then just use the command wvdial to connect

it seems to work better
