Internet browsers?

Hi all,

I currently only have Mozilla as my internet browser and was wondering if there was another one I could install. This is the default one that came with RH9, and sometimes it doesn't display some pages very well.

I was going to install Netscape, but now that netscape is discontinuing their lines, I do not know what other browsers there are for linux out there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Alf829

You can download Opera 7.11 for free. Here is the link.

These assumptions are very misleading... you will also have firebird, galeon, konqueror and a number of other browsers on your cd's just waiting for you to install them....

I use Galeon. I made the mistake of paying money for Opera for winders and soon took it off due to too many crashes.

If you are looking for a new browser I would suggest checking out Mozilla/Firebird. It is very light and works really well. You can even find a version compiled with the nice anti aliased fonts, the xft version.

Dillo has been mentioned a few times around the board. You could also go all out with CLI and use lynx or Links. Wine has been shown to work with IE4 I believe if you wanted to destabalize your system :D

StarOffice (or possibly OpenOffice..) I believe has a built in browser.

Head over to:

And type in:
browser

Cool

Cool.

Thank you all for your help on this matter. I'll check out the browsers that have been suggested. I've heard about opera and firebird but have never tried them and I've actually forgotten about them :D

As for this:

What I meant was the default browser that was installed with my RH9. I did not know there were any other browsers on the CD since I selected the default one. But now I know.

Even then though, you probably have konqueror already installed. Default browser is really not the case in linux as very little software is actually 'default' even on a particular distro ;)

Freedom of choice baby! :D

Cool
