I'm using Debian unstable on kernel 2.6.7. My problem basically lies in the fact that I need to install a program that comes packaged with Installshield.
While it's not essential to the problem, this program is called Customizer 10000 and interfaces via USB with my mother's sewing machine.
Here's what's happening:

At this point I wait a few minutes to see if something is going to happen, and then usually press Ctrl+C to stop wine.
I'd really like to get this working, because it's the only thing stopping my mother's computer from staying on Linux forever. However, I should note that Customizer 10000 needs to install proprietary drivers to interface with a sewing machine.
Now, I do have some Linux knowledge, but this is my first time with Wine at any real length. I'm beginning to wonder if it's even worth my time to be mucking with proprietary drivers that work with proprietary devices. And I think it's a fair bet that few, if any, middle aged women who like to sew use Linux; hence, this software probably hasn't been used under Linux before.
So if someone tells me that this just isn't going to happen, I'll cut my losses here and use her restore disk, bring her back into the wonderful world of Windows. (ha.) But it would really be great to keep her on Linux.
Thanks for any help you can give me!
