Installing WINE on Slackware Problem with pkginstall

ok i downloaded Wine-20050310-i486-S10.tgz from the winehq site, the switched to su, changed directories to WINE, then typed:

pkginstall Wine-20050310-i486-S10.tgz

When I did, it said package does not end in .tgz.

what would be the cause of this error?

NOTE: I am not using Slackware, I am using College Linux which is built on Slack.

OOPS, might help if I used the right syntax

sorry for posting such a stupid question.

So, I think it's installed... What do I need to do next? I've read that I need to run wineconfig but when i run that program my terminal freezes.

What do I need to do?
