Smile installing VLC media player how-to

Noob here,
lol actually the name is Dave
WEll i just installed YDL 6.1 on my PS3 and I must say I am really pleased with having this OS however, I cant seem to get VIdeolan media player downloaded..
I go strait to videolans web site videolan.org, and click on the link next to the orange cone that says "download" and there is no download link inside. Is the site down? Or do I have to do something different?? SOrry im new to linux. Cant wait to get the hang of it.
The whole purpose is im trying to play youtube files and listen to myspace/music.
Thank you so much guys!
Im off to Cedar Point to catch some coasters and laughs with some friends. Ill be back on around 12 am and I hope sm1 can help. I just spent all morning trying to get this to work. I tried everything I read online. Nothing worked.
Trying to play Youtube vidoes I get message: YouTotem: Unable to find video source...

I did install youtotem. At least I think i did.
Thank you LQ.ORG-glad your here

what i noticed

I noticed that the link that you posted (thank you btw) says that this is for YDL 5. Is that the same as YDL 6.1?
If so, DO i type in GNOME at the KBOOT option to get into the root account? thanks again
