Unhappy Installing Suse 7.2 from hard disk

When I attempt to install Suse 7.2 from my windows partition I constantly get the error "Cannot find the image! Check the directory specifications!"

I have scoured the Suse webpage where they have an answer to this problem. Their answer doesn't work for me, though! Their answer is simply put in "/emil" and put the files in c:\emil. They also offer no support to people who have downloaded the files via ftp.

When installing I get right up to the point where the menu says 'Start installation". I select that and then select Harddisk as my source. It asks which harddisk I want to install from and I put in /dev/hda2 which is the right partition. I know this because it is the only one that works and because I use Ranish Partition Manager.

Then it asks for the source directory. Since it is located in c:\suse72 on my windows partition I put in "/suse72". I always get the "Cannot find image!" error.

I have also tried "/suse72/suse" and "/suse72/suse/images". I have tried renaming the suse72 directory to "emil" just in case, (as in the Suse example)but it still doesn't work.

I have read every related post in this forum and still have no clue. I spent three days downloading these files from the suse ftp mirror and I would really like to use them. If it helps, I have purchased Suse 6.2 and have the CD's and manual. I know I could do a partial install of 6.2 and re-do it with 7.2 but I want to install 7.2 clean on a new machine.

I want to be able to use these files! Please help!

Unhappy

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I downloaded the 7.2 distribution to a Windows 2000 host and tried to burn CD's from there.

The problem I have is that Windows "uppercases" all files names before writing the files to the CD.

install linux from hdd

You need to enter /suse72/inst-iso-name.iso when it asks for the source directory. I did it and it worked with suse.
