Red face Installing Suse 10.3 Problem

I tried to install 10.3 in a frends computer and could not get passed this message:
YEST does not have enough memory to instaal.."
The computer has 174 MB of Ram. Not enough?

If I could get to the particaning I think I could get it installed.

My experance: I first installed SUSE 9.3, 10.1, 10.3 in several computers. all of these computers are double boot and have more then the abouve mention memory.

That is the problem, most of the newer larger distros require a minimum of 256 megs of mem.

I might add there are some smaller distros out there that function well and use less memory, do a little research and choose the best one or upgrade his memory.

you could try to run the rescue system from the boot cd and manually create the partitions - including swap.
then next time when it says "bla bla low memory, cannot run yast.... blabla" and "use swap partition e.g. /dev/hda2" or sth. like it you can use the swap space for the installation.

OR just get more ram. I highly recommend using more ram. Otherwise KDE or gnome won't be fun to work with.
