installing source from cd?

if its SOURCE, and not an rpm, just copy the file onto your harddrive (to make it faster), and then just follow the normal instructions to install it.

Theres loads of info on the boards for installing from source (at least 2 threads a day), so maybe you can convince some kind person to give you some links (I lost my list:( )
