Installing Silo through WINE

I tried to run the Silo3D setup.exe file through WINE, and I came across a slight problem. It was the first time I've ever tried to use WINE so I just went to the terminal and typed WINE and the filename. The software installed fine, and when it came to the bit where it asked if you want to run the program I got the following error in the terminal:

:~> wine SiloSetup.exe
fixme:richedit:RichEditANSIWndProc WM_SETFONT: stub
err:menubuilder:InvokeShellLinker failed to fork and exec wineshelllink
err:menubuilder:extract_icon32 LoadLibraryExW (L"c:\\Program Files\\Silo\\Silo.ico") failed, error 193
err:menubuilder:InvokeShellLinker failed to fork and exec wineshelllink
fixme:vxd:VXD_Open Unknown/unsupported VxD L"bcmdmccp.vxd". Try setting Windows version to 'nt40' or 'win31'.
err:seh:setup_exception nested exception on signal stack in thread 001b eip 401ce8f7 esp 40018ccc stack 0x405c0000-0x407c0000
:~>

It created a link on the desktop, but it doesn't actually link to anything.

I'm using OpenSUSE 10 and dual booting with WinXP SP2.

Thanks
Adam

Just because a program will install under Wine doesn't mean it will run under it. Have you checked the WineappDB to see if others have gotten this program running?

And did you try setting the Wine version to nt40 or win31 like the error message suggested?
