Installing Perl-Tk

Hi,

I've got Redhat Enterprise WS #3 and perl v5.8.0 built for i386-linux-thread-multi. I'm trying to install perl-Tk so I can use widgets and create some GUI fronts for some scripts. I downloaded Tk-804.027 and tried to install that but it wouldn't install citing errors with the include folder. Eventually I downloaded perl-Tk-800.024-127.i586.rpm and that installed no problem. Then I tried to run the program widget (which to the best of my knowledge should work with perl-Tk installed) and got the following error:

Can't locate Tk.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0 .) at /usr/bin/widget line 8.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/widget line 8.

Have I not installed something or is something installed in the wrong place? What do I need to do to program a front end GUI? I'm not sold on perltk or any other specific GUI creator so if there is a better or easier one to use I would gladly try that. The only reason I picked perl-Tk is that the scripts I currently have are written in Perl. Thanks so much for any and all help.

I'm not sure how to do it, but you certainly want your Tk.pm in @INC, so find out where Tk.pm resides, and find out how to put it in @INC.

There's perl-gtk and perl-qt as alternatives:

http://perlqt.sourceforge.net/

Thanks so much for the reply. I looked around and tried to install a newer version of perl-Tk, hoping that it would put the Tk.pm file in the right place (as the previuos rpm file did not). I downloaded the appropriate rpm for my machine from:

http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat....i386.rpm.html

And it seems to be working fine. Thanks again for you help.
