Installing onto a RAID array..

Hi. I'm looking to install Debian (amd64 unofficial version) on a machine with an intel raid controller.

It's not going quite as I expected. I've been through the RAID setup and configured an RAID1 array from the two (identical) disks, but when I boot into the debian installer, it still presents me with two disks to install on.

I thought that I'd be offered only one disk (with the other disk being a mirror of the first)?

Do I need to install specific drivers for this controller, and if so how do I configure these drivers in the installer?

There might be something about this in the Debian forum.

From what I know of installs, there are different kernel options at boot. Did you try one of those? like raid.s or something?

Hmm. didn't see an option for raid. Pretty sure there wasn't one :(
