Fedora Core 3 w/ Apache 2.0.52 and PHP 5:
I am trying to install mysql 4.1, I download the rpm, try to install it, but it says it is already installed (included w/ FC3). So I try to access it w/ phpMyAdmin, however that gives me an error saying that PHP cannot access mysql beacuse the module is not loaded, so I try to install the module from the cd again and fedora says that it cannot install it beacsue it is missing mysql-server, but if i try to install mysql-server (not from cd but local rpm) it says its already installed. PHP says its configured with mysql and the mysqld service is running. Can anyone help?

I don't know about Fedora but sometimes in Mandrake the gui rpm manager will not be accurate. Try command line install, just in case you don't know how:

su
password
rpm -ivh <rpm name here>

That at least will give you more detailed information.
