Installing mssql to be used with php in redhat i386
I've been running aroung trying different ways to install the mssql extension to use with php5 and connect to a SQL Server using php for about a week with no success. I'm not an expert linux user by any means and can't seems to get this going, the server I'm trying to modify is a production server so this has to get done with minimal disturban to the live applications.
Thanks for any help with this matter |
Which RH version are you using?
Did you install php-mssql? |
The redhat version is:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4 (Nahant Update 4) and yes php and mysql are installed, thre are live sites on this server. |
I didn't ask if php and mysql were installed, I asked if php-mssql was.
|
No is not, I've tried installing it with not success, I could just add the line to the php.ini file, enabiling the extension but can't seem to get the mssql.so to work
|
How did you try to install it? Is your RHEL4 supported?
|
First, I tried using and rpm on this page http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/se...query=mssql.so.
Then I tried installing freetds, but could not get that working either. Then I tried and installer from easysoft but the installer goes on for a while and then it shuts down because it does not find unixODBC installed on the machine, even tho the easysoft package comes with a version of unixODBC. |

Sorry, I forgot to anwser that, That server is a hosted server with verio.net, I've talked to them several times but, they haven't had this kind of request before (connect to sql server from php) so they have not been very helpful.

Does anybody have any tips for this problem?
|
You've already had several and apparently not followed any up.
|
I'm sorry billymayday, did my posts respond your questions? I think I'm missing something.
