installing mozilla 3.5 in linux and onto desktop

I'm trying to get the new Mozilla Firefox on my Mint 7 system and then an icon, of course onto my desktop. How do I do all of this? The Firefox update seems to be faded and disabled all the sudden, I don't understand this either. I'd like to replace or at least have the old and the new versions. Please explain in detail, I'm not at all sure how to do this.

thanx, marty510

thank you,much better browser!

just used my synaptic package manager to find it, and there it was! Firefox 3.5.1 is named "Shiretoko".............on the menu........ after I picked out "Firefox 3.5" and installed it.

Thanks craigevel, it's a faster browser for sure
