Question installing missing library in /home folder without root

Hi Gurus,

I would like to run Blender (3D modelling software) on RedHat Enterprise. I have a problem with missing libraries (libavutil50.so). Second problem is that I have no root access so I cannot install rpm package with libavutil50.so.

Does anybody knows how can I manage this ?

Is it possible to install somehow libavutil50.so in my /home folder, that Blender will have an access to this library ?

Would be great if somebody could help me.

greetings

Dlugasx

Assume RHEL 5, 32bits :

mkdir lib && cp libavutil.so.50.40.0 lib/ && cd lib/ &&
ln -s libavutil.so.50.40.0 libavutil50.so
ftp://ftp.pbone.net/mirror/atrpms.ne...2.el5.i386.rpm
( Unpack with :
'rpm2cpio libavutil50-0.6.1-42_git20110322.el5.i386.rpm | cpio -idmv'.)

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/<?>/lib:/usr/lib:/lib && ./blender ,
to see, if you now have got the right library.

..
