Unhappy Installing Mandrake 8.1 problems

Problems, problems.

I believe that I have a problem with hd.img while trying to install Mandrake 8.1 from my harddrive. I've downloaded 8.1 cd1 and cd2 in ISO form. I've check the md5sum with everything ok. I've created an hd.img boot disk and booted the machine. The install progresses ok (using expert mode) until about 1/2 way and then every package install fails. I believe the problem is that the install program (buried somewhere in hd.img) can't open cd2 even though it's on the harddrive and ok.

I have seen this problem reported before and believe it is still an outstanding problem. The work around I understand is to install without using expert and then installing the other packages by hand.

Can anyone confirm this? Is there a work around?

Regards,

Paul
