install exited abnormally -- recieved signal 11 What does this mean?
I am trying to install RedHat 7.1 --- when it tries to load anaconda I get the error:
install exited abnormally -- recieved signal 11
What does that mean? I have an ATA100 harddsik being controlled by a HighPoint Technolgies raid controller..it finds the harddsik and controller and loads drivers for it...so I dont think this is the problem..anyone know?
Sig11 is hardware error. a few ideas:
1. try installing with textmode instead of a GUI
2. update the bootdisk image from the errata section if there is a newer one
3. get the anaconda updates from the errata section
4. if it doesnt recognize all the RAM uve got in ure box try adding a parameter (might need expert mode?) mem=n (megabytes) like mem=256
I have no idea what that error means, but the Red Hat website should be able to tell you. Other than that, a search in google will probably reveal some good results.
