Why have you posted this in this part of the forums? RedHat 8 and Limewire have nothing to do with Linux From Scratch..

Whats with all the SHOUTING?

Moving this thread to somewhere it might get a better response, sorry that I can't help you myself, I've never touched Limewire. I take it that you were trying to run this from an xterm (or equivilent) not from a text terminal session yeah?

cheers

Jamie...

At a command prompt type

export PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/your_java_version/bin

For me it would be

export PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/j2re1.4.1_01/bin

Then do

./LimeWire*

You should be golden.

If you can't live without the limewire label you can also install mldonkey - has a limewire plugin. As an added side effect you can also access the edonkey, overnet and direct connect network. There are others but they don't work too well right now.

It's much easier to get their "OTHER INSTALLERS" working.
Just click that on the download page and choose linux.

As long as java (done above in the Crashed_Again response - will show something with java -version) is in your path, run runLime.sh
