I AM TRYING TO INSTALL LIMEWIRE ON REDHAT 8, I DOWNLOADED IT TO MY HOME THE WENT TO A TERMINAL AND CHANGED THE PERMISSIONS SO IT HAD X THEN I RAN THE COMMAND ./lIMEWIRELINUX.BIN AND IT SAID( You must install a VM prior to running this program.) I THINK I INSTALLED JUST ABOUT EVERY VM THAT N E ONE EVER THOUGHT OF MAKING AND IT STILL DIDNT WORK. SOMEONE PLEASE BAIL ME OUT.!!!
Moving this thread to somewhere it might get a better response, sorry that I can't help you myself, I've never touched Limewire. I take it that you were trying to run this from an xterm (or equivilent) not from a text terminal session yeah?
I am not shouting.I just thought since he used capital letters he might have a problem with his eyes and wanted to make sure he can read what i replied - BEING COURTEOUS !!
If you can't live without the limewire label you can also install mldonkey - has a limewire plugin. As an added side effect you can also access the edonkey, overnet and direct connect network. There are others but they don't work too well right now.
