installing latex editor on knoppix 3.9
 

hi guys
i am not able to install latex editor on my knoppix 3.9.
i am also having a similar problem with g95 a fortran compiler. i have full setup of g95 but the soft link i created and put in /usr/bin doesnt work and gives me a "permission denied" message
Pls help me

Is that a hard disk install of Knoppix, or what are you working with?

Also: what is your Latex editor? (hint: mine's vim or emacs).

i am using a live-cd and i have not installed it on the hard disk.
my latex editor is kile

I assume you're following some document like this
