Installing KDE from source

I have installed the Linux 2.6.16.18 kernel, a minimal shell, the X Window System and now want to add KDE to the system. Where can I find the KDE sources? Which packages of those should I download for a minimal KDE? Any useful info for compiling and installing with gcc from the shell?
