Installing kde 3.0

Ok, ran the rpm install with kdeddons, admin, baseutils, kdelibs

try the 'startkde command' and get:
xsetroot: unable to open display ''
xset: unable to open display ""
xset: unable to open display ""
xset: unable to open display ""
xset: unable to open display ""
ksplash: cannot connect to X server
Aborting. $DISPLAY is not set.
Aborting. $DISPLAY is not set.
ksmserver: cannot connect to X server

Any ideaS?

this should resolve the issue
[bash]# export DISPLAY=localhost:0.0

Ok, started kde, but it's starting kde 2 instead of the new 3.0.....

Got this error now:

xsetroot: unable to open display 'localhost:0.0'
