installing k3b cant find x
 

hello iv just installed debian 3.1. Now when i try to install k3b i get error message which says "checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!"

can any body help me with this i get this error as soon as i do "./configure"

You need to install the X development packages. Check your distro's CDs, or else the package manager. It might be named something like xorg-devel or something similar.

Hello thanks for the reply im trying to install the devel packages via "aptitude" but im getting an error message " apt errors warning could not lock the cache file opening in read only mode can any body tell me how to fix this problem please
