Installing iRedMail -- Broken Packages?

Hello there,

After setting up the configurations for iRedMail following this guide:

I am receiving this error:
Code:
Installing package(s): mysql-server mysql-client postfix-mysql libapache2-mod-auth-mysql libapache2-mod-php5 php5-mysql postfix postfix-pcre postfix-cluebringer postfix-cluebringer-mysql dovecot-imapd dovecot-pop3d dovecot-managesieved dovecot-sieve dovecot-mysql amavisd-new libcrypt-openssl-rsa-perl libmail-dkim-perl clamav-freshclam clamav-daemon spamassassin altermime arj zoo nomarch cpio lzop cabextract p7zip rpm unrar-free ripole libmail-spf-perl python-mysqldb libapache2-mod-wsgi python-jinja2 python-netifaces python-webpy awstats bzip2 acl patch cron tofrodos logwatch

cpio is already the newest version.

cron is already the newest version.

libapache2-mod-php5 is already the newest version.

libapache2-mod-php5 set to manually installed.

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have

requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable

distribution that some required packages have not yet been created

or been moved out of Incoming.

The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:

libapache2-mod-auth-mysql : Depends: apache2.2-common (>= 2.2.3-3) but it is not going to be installed

E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Installation failed, please check the terminal output.
How would I fix this?

By not mixing packages from different releases, or by removing the hold on packages that need upgrading to satisfy the dependencies of what you are installing.

Letting us know what distro and version you are running would be helpful.
It looks like you are running Debian, and FWIW, this should never happen if you run 'stable' and install only packages from the official repo's.

I am running Ubuntu, and the only other software I installed was the latest version of PHP, using precise (you can't do it from the official repo).

Does that mean anyone who uses the latest PHP is unable to use iRedMail? :O

It means anyone who has broken their system by installing incompatible packages is unable to install further packages until the dependency mess is sorted out.
