installing gtk on a debian sarge

hello,

i try to install gtk on a debian sarge, but it doesn't work.
i've read the installation guide on gtk.org, and i've set the correct directories to PKG_CONFIG_PATH CPPFLAGS LDFLAGS PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
but, when i try to install atk, i've got the following error : "~/glib-2.4.7/gobject/glib-genmarshal : no such file or directory",
i don't understand because the file exist and is in the correct directory.

can someone help me plz ?

Did you apt-get the package?

i apt-get the package libgtk2.0-0, but i want to program some applications in C with gtk, and with the "apt-get install libgtk2.0-0" i haven't got the gtk/gtk.h and others .h files i need.

I think you need libgtk2.0-dev as well.
