Unhappy Installing gnome-telnet trouble

I'm having trouble installing gnome-telnet on a RH 8.0 system. The first issue is the fact that it's looking for krb5-libs.1.2.7-10 and the one I have installed is a newer version. But I forced the install anyway. But the program does not work properly. The telnet screen has a bunch of "?" question marks across the screen and any char's I type are garbage. However, the telnet connect appears to work. TIA
