First off, we need to know what distro you are using because some of them have different nuances to get the Nvidia driver installed. Also we need to know what kernel you are using, and if you have the kernel-sources installed (type "uname -r" at command prompt without the quotes). And lastly you need to 1) not be in an X environment when trying to install them 2) to run the drivers you downloaded you do this:
Code:
at a command prompt:
su
<type root password>
cd /directory/where/you/downloaded/driver
sh ./NVIDIA.X.X.X.X.run
follow on screen directions
edit XF86Config file
restart X
Nobody will yell at you if you give more info than is needed but giving no info is not a good practice to fall into.
thanks for the info, but I dont know what is a Distro, and the Kernel, well i haven't updated it yet, so i have the one that comes with the Fedora download, but ill try tonight with what you told me above and pray to god it works.
