hi guys!

i have recently installed ubuntu in my old compaq armada 1500c. i did a minimal install and it worked fine! i want fluxbox as my window manager. i cant do an apt-get install becuase i have no internet connection. i have downloaded the fluxbox debian package and when i do a dpkg -i fluxbox.... i get an error that sez it needs a menu 2.4.1 package. where do i get that package?

is there anyway to install fluxbox without and internet connections?

i tried the source tarball but it wanted the X11-dev libraries which i do not have and dont know where to download. thanks!

Go to the official Ubuntu repository then. Or if that's possible you can check debian's as well at http://packages.debian.org . If you did a minimum install you still have the packages at the CD which you can use with apt as well. It's possible to set up apt to use the CDrom. You'll need all dependent packages though so you have to download those before you can install fluxbox. I think you're missing more though since fluxbox hasn't got any dependencies as far as I know.
