Hi
I installed a Ktu 10.04 - 64b yesterday on a lenovo TP edge. So far, everything works well, put i cannot install de flashplayer for firefox nor chrome. Found a lot of info about installing it on Kntu 8 and 9 (i had one and it worked well), but it doesn't work. I tried downloading the .tar file from the adobe site, and then creating the pligins folder on .mozilla and saving the file there, but it doesn't workd.
On ubuntu 10.04 if you go into the Ubuntu Software Center instead of synaptic I believe there is a selection for Adobe Flash. I installed from there in Ubuntu 10.04 64bit and flash worked fine. Don't know if that option exists on Kubuntu, but if it does try it.
thkx kilgoretrout for the idea, yes it worked, but only the video... i cannot hear anything (nor in-speakers or headphones, and amarok works well)... should I make another thread for this issue?
I tried installing the libflashsupport (as recomended in the mozilla site)
but this came out in the console:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package libflashsupport is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package libflashsupport has no installation candidate
Ok, found the problem: the volume from the flash player (btw, skype too) is managed from the "PCM" key in the Kmix. Be sure to enable it (settings> configure channels.
So, I think the downloading of the "Adobe Flash Player plugin installer" from the Kpackage Manager did the work. It was just an issue of volume setting. One can check the plugin by writing aboutlugins in the URL bar in Chrome/firefox. There appears if it's installed or not.
