I have tried a lot of ways, have seen a lot of sites and videos and I cannot get the proper method in installing flash player in my linux mint 7 'gloria'. I need help, I have the tar.gz file on my desktop, the libflashplayer.so .

I went to terminal, tried what I previously saw, but it is not working.

I need help.
More over, I am extremely new to Linux and I am extremely naive.
I don't even understand the concept of Terminal? It is a shell just like DOS and Terminal in Wins and Macs right?

What exactly can you do with these? Please explain.

you can install the package "mint-flashplugin" from the Software Manager
