Installing CEDEGA on UBUNTU ;) check ths out

hey guys! I am trying to instal Cedega and it even comes with a .deb file but it says I need python-gtk2, now when I try to install this it asks me for python-numeric, then another....what am I doing wrong??

This is what im facing..

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
cedega-small: Depends: python-glade2 but it is not going to be installed
python-gtk2: Depends: libc6 (>= 2.5-5) but 2.5-0ubuntu14 is to be installed
Depends: libpango1.0-0 (>= 1.16.4) but 1.16.2-0ubuntu1 is to be installed
Depends: python-cairo (>= 1.0.2-1.1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: python-gobject (>= 2.12.1) but it is not going to be installed
python-numeric: Depends: libc6 (>= 2.5-5) but 2.5-0ubuntu14 is to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

Thanks!

PS- This is trying to install Cedega 6.0, there is a 1.7meg fil that is .deb then some sort of compressed file that is 8 megs and is the engine? I am not sure which to instal first...or how to...VERY CONFUSED!

THANKS!

1. where are you trying te install cedega from?

2. Have you tried installing the missing debs via aptitude/synaptic?

python-gtk2
aptitude install python

... worked for me.

Thumbs up

As ur installer has told, execute the following line,

>> apt-get -f install

this will deal with all the dependencies..
(U must have the installation source listed in the /etc/apt/sources.list file.. [either cd or a download mirror])

then install the cedega-small***.deb package using

>> dpkg -i cedega-small***.deb

then

>> run cedega from 'Run command' dialog

>> Follow the instructions.. then chose local install in the cedega install window and chose the 8 megs .cpkg file.. this will install cedega..

Enjoy!!
