Installing and uninstalling Mozzilla

Howdy All!

I am running RadHat 9.

I just installed Mozilla 1.4 using the installer, which installed it to:
/usr/local/mozilla

However, I still have Mozilla 1.2 installed - I think as an rpm.

When I attempt to uninstall the package, I get the following:

root@robertmarkbram mozilla]# rpm -e mozilla
error: Failed dependencies:
libgkgfx.so is needed by (installed) mozilla-dom-inspector-1.2.1-26
libgtkembedmoz.so is needed by (installed) kdebindings-3.1-6
mozilla = 1.2.1-26 is needed by (installed) mozilla-mail-1.2.1-26
mozilla = 1.2.1-26 is needed by (installed) mozilla-psm-1.2.1-26
mozilla = 35:1.2.1 is needed by (installed) galeon-1.2.7-3
mozilla = 1.2.1-26 is needed by (installed) mozilla-chat-1.2.1-26
mozilla = 1.2.1-26 is needed by (installed) mozilla-devel-1.2.1-26
mozilla = 1.2.1-26 is needed by (installed) mozilla-dom-inspector-1.2.1-26
mozilla = 1.2.1-26 is needed by (installed) mozilla-js-debugger-1.2.1-26
mozilla is needed by (installed) plugger-4.0-23
[root@robertmarkbram mozilla]#

How can I uninstall the old Mozzilla?

And then.. in KDE, how can I change the Web Browser button to point to the new Mozilla?

Thank you for any help!

Rob

You can uninstall the old Mozilla by uninstalling all the dependencies as well:

rpm -e mozilla mozilla-mail mozilla-psm galeon mozilla-chat mozilla-devel mozilla-dom-inspector mozilla-js-debugger

I think that should work.

Howdy!

This is what I got:

[root@robertmarkbram mozilla-installer]# rpm -e mozilla mozilla-mail mozilla-psm galeon mozilla-chat mozilla-devel mozilla-dom-inspector mozilla-js-debugger
error: Failed dependencies:
libgtkembedmoz.so is needed by (installed) kdebindings-3.1-6
mozilla is needed by (installed) plugger-4.0-23
[root@robertmarkbram mozilla-installer]#

I know I could add "plugger" to the list .. but is kdebindings somethings I should uninstall? It sounds a bit vital...

Mmm... This is a tough program to uninstall:

[robertmarkbram@robertmarkbram robertmarkbram]$ rpm -e mozilla mozilla-mail mozilla-psm galeon mozilla-chat mozilla-devel mozilla-dom-inspector mozilla-js-debugger plugger kdebindings
error: Failed dependencies:
kdebindings = 3.1-6 is needed by (installed) kdebindings-devel-3.1-6
[robertmarkbram@robertmarkbram robertmarkbram]$ rpm -e mozilla mozilla-mail mozilla-psm galeon mozilla-chat mozilla-devel mozilla-dom-inspector mozilla-js-debugger plugger
error: Failed dependencies:
libgtkembedmoz.so is needed by (installed) kdebindings-3.1-6
[robertmarkbram@robertmarkbram robertmarkbram]$

I would appreciate any other ideas!

Rob
