installing a tar.bz2
how do i install a tar.bz2 file? i tried the tar xzvf MPlayer-1.0pre2.tar.bz2 but that didnt work... can someone please tell me how to install a tar.bz2 file?

z is for gzip - use j for bzip2:
tar xjvf MPlayer-1.0pre2.tar.bz2
|

Or simply type bunzip2 MPlayer-1.0pre2.tar.bz2
and tar xvf MPlayer-1.0pre2.tar.bz2

tar -jxvf mplayer----
cd mplayer----
./configure --enable-gui
make
make install
mplayer or gmplayer
