Installation of Tivoli - uses rexec ?

I'm currently trying to get Tivoli Endpoint installed onto a R.H 7.1 server. The installation runs from the Tivoli TMR server. I believe that it trys to use rexec to install onto the Linux box, but I'm hitting the following problem. The Tivoli machine reaches the Linux box, and requests login and password. On passing it root and root's password I get a 'connection refused' message. /var/logs/messages shows the box connecting but not it being refused. As far as I can tell rexec is enabled ok. I have created a .rhosts file with the Tivoli ip in it but am still getting 'connection refused'. Any pointers gratefully received.

look under /etc/xinited.d/rexec to see if you have enabled it.
